Park Regency is a 119 unit Senior Care Complex composed of 89 senior living residences and 30 memory care residences. The total building is composed of a two and three story structure that houses the Senior Living spaces and one story spaces that houses the recreational areas and Alzheimer’s wing. Park Regency also includes a large front lobby, full kitchen, dining areas, exercise rooms, laundry, employee facilities, administrative offices, maintenance areas and two courtyards.
The structure is designed with a ground floor concrete (on grade) slab with each floor and roof using 8” hollow core slabs. These structural slabs are placed on the exterior walls and grid of steel columns and beams.
The HVAC system allows for the control of temperature in each unit and public spaces. The mechanical system includes code required supply and return air using a percentage of outside air. There are compressors on the roof that feed individual units and the public spaces.
The facades have a residential look provided by the movement of the building, balconies and tile roofs.
Urgent Care of SW Florida was an adaptive re-use project, converting an
existing tenant space to a state of the art
primary/urgent health care facility.
The 6,700 square foot office accommodates five exam rooms, two cardio rooms, a large procedure room that can be sub-divided in two rooms, x-ray suite and basic laboratory. The facility has a
centralized nurse/physician station capable of visually monitoring all the patient rooms. The circulation of the facility allows for full movement of stretchers, with a dedicated emergency entrance.
The design takes advantage of the unusually tall spaces to create an exciting entry lobby/reception area which welcomes and soothes urgent care patients.

The building is a distinctive South Florida modernist design, featuring a large curved canopy
which will protect the windows from the sun and visitors during inclement weather. This along
with carefully detailed wall treatments, sculptural stairs and a curved window wall, will provide
the owner with the unique investment property he desired when he engaged Gora/McGahey.
Crowne Plaza received the 2003 Florida Southwest Chapter of the American Institute of Architects Un-built Design Award. The building was completed in the spring of 2005.
