Chico?s National Store Support Center (NSSC) outgrew its original campus and elected to develop a new office building. The client?s programmatic intent was to develop a strong, graphic building image that spoke to a modernist approach within the environment. To do so, Chico?s turned again to GMA Architects (GMA) to plan and design their North Campus expansion.
The conceptual schemes were developed in close collaboration with the Client, presenting three-dimensional computer simulated models throughout to ensure the Client could engage with every stages of the design from concept to execution.
The 6.7-acre site along Plantation Road was developed to provide an additional 146,000 square foot of corporate office. The design presents a response to the existing campus, set up by the orientation of the building. The plan provides flexible spaces to accommodate the World?s leading apparel company. The entry opens onto a large lobby. The geometry of the interior circulation spines act to define different spaces within ?Main Street? and create rich, highly detailed strong gallery walls displaying imagery of current Chico?s apparels, connected through a glazed light-filled atrium and become focal points for employees interactions, events and gathering.
