GMA Architects & Planners has recently completed construction of the newest Goodwill Retail and Donation Center for Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida. GMA takes great pride in having completed multiple projects for Goodwill, helping them forward their mission of serving people with disabilities and disadvantages by offering life-changing opportunities to achieve independence.
The new 20,000 square foot facility is strategically located on Six Mile Cypress Parkway near Colonial Boulevard in an area of intense retail concentration. This magnet of diverse shopping opportunities, big box retail, and numerous restaurant options places Goodwill in an enviable position for exposure to new customers. The highly identifiable color scheme and building graphics reinforce the Goodwill ?Brand? at a glance. Ample onsite parking and public transit service to the door provides simple access for all clientele.
The 14,000 square foot retail floor is simple and clean with an open floor plan featuring brightly colored graphics and polished concrete floors. Multiple dressing rooms are provided along with public rest rooms. The donation and sorting area provides separate entrances for Goodwill deliveries and public donations. The public drop-off area is covered by a porte-cochere providing protection from sun or inclement weather. This back-of-the-house area connects to employee break room and toilet facilities.
This new plan is intended to serve as a prototype for future development by Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida.
