GMA Architects and Planners has provided Marine Max with complete plans and specifications for a Parts and Services facility and a further comprehensive interior design for an included client lounge. Additional programming requirements revealed the need for a separate hazardous chemical storage building. The facility is located at 14030 McGregor Blvd in Fort Myers and will be executed in 3 phases, on land classified Archeological Level 2. Conformity to waterfront development regulations and local design review authorities was included in the contract.
The main structure includes spacious front of house amenities and a large pre-engineered metal shop building which virtually disappears into the employed Coastal style assemblage of stucco cladding and metal hip roof with shading eaves. Rhythmic pilasters, rustic plinth, wall vents and cupola elements borrowed from the main façade soften the elongated street side elevation. A white interstice band continues along the structure as well, more deeply unifying client and service areas through a single, comprehensive design language.
